Aces High really helped me to understand how to work with my dog. Although we only had a brief period of time to work on some basics, Headley left me with detailed notes which have been a huge help in getting Satchel to follow my commands. If we were in the Moncton area, we'd definitely be back for more.
Thanks Headley and Nala!

I have a five year old, stubborn Coonhound. Coonhounds are very well known for how difficult they are to train and to be honest I never put an extensive amount of time into training her over the years. I am a working single parent and lack the extra time required for dog training. So, I was very excited to have Headley come to over for some one on one training with my dog and my children. I have always seen a special bond between my oldest child and our dog, but I was genuinely amazed at how quickly she responded to the methods that Headley taught my daughter to use. My children are now teaching me how to work with the dog properly and we are all enjoying the training time we spend together.
Thank you Headley for the time you spent with my family and the patience you had with my pet and my children.

It was kind of fun and it was worth it. I learned that there is a way to make a dog lay down and stay. I've been practicing and she listens now. I want Headley to teach me to have her fart on command. Headley was really, really nice to me and Hacky.

I adopted our Golden retriever mix from our local SPCA. They estimated his age to be around a year and a half. I was glad as I wasn’t about to go through puppy house training again. Shiloh is a laid back, easy-going dog, not a barker nor a jumper, but likes to chase anything that moves (cats, birds, rabbits, etc.). I really wanted to be able to enjoy my walks with Shiloh without being pulled down the street. I contacted Headley for a consultation, and from there we started our one-on-one training at my house. This was great because we could work on all the things that interested Shiloh in our neighbourhood. Headley has a way with dogs that makes it a lot of fun for them. My dog really looked up to Headley--like he says: you have to make everything positive. Headley is a good teacher and will teach you the proper training techniques. You will see improvements. It’s not easy, but it is possible to keep calm and carry on. Remember to keep everything positive.

If you want a person who is very in tune with animals, loves them and takes care of them like they were his own, then Headley is the person for you.
I found Headley's 'Aces High Dog Training/Sitter' services on the internet, called some references, then met him in-person (more than once at his request) so he could get to know me and my dogs prior to taking care of them while I took a long awaited vacation to Ontario for one week. I had never left my dogs to 'strangers' before - always using a family member. However, this time, I needed help. When I first met Headley, I was immediately taken with his easy and polite manner. More importantly my dogs warmed to him instantly - especially my 'girl' who doesn't warm to men very easily. I still left on vacation with 'heart in hand' worrying about how my 'kids' would take to someone new coming into the house each day while I wasn't there. I had no worries. Every day, including the day we left to drive to Ontario, Headley sent me emails and photos of Chesska and Harley lounging in the back yard, enjoying the sun. They were happy and I was happy. Just as important, when I got back home, my neighbour had nothing but good things to say about Headley. He even made friends with her as well! Headley was true to his word, he was there early in the morning, again in the afternoon and again in the evening, not just to feed them, but to actually spend time with them too. I was impressed. I am NOT impressed that he is no longer living in New Brunswick. Toronto now has a new Dog Trainer/Sitter at the ready - our loss is your gain . . so take advantage of his services . . you won't be disappointed!

I really enjoyed the Puppy Training I had with Headley from Aces High Dog Training. My dog Maggie is an Australian Sheppard with really high energy. I had dogs all my life, but Headley taught me and Maggie the basic commands (sit, lie down, come) using both voice and gesture, which was new to me and works just great, as well as the basics of crate training, etc. I also learned a lot of new, useful things about dog behaviour. Now Maggie is calmer and less likely to jump on the couch or bark at the doorbell with the help of Headley to correct these behaviours. I am a little jealous because Headley is such a good trainer and I am afraid Maggie prefers him to me. I am planning to go on to the next Group Session in May. I recommend the Puppy Training to everyone--it is worth the money.

Hi,
I just wanted to thank Aces High Dog Training once again. Headley was very knowlageable and very helpful. Not only did he provide one on one obedient training, but he is always a great resource to get information on how we can help our dog through anxiety or simply to break a bad habit. Most recently provided us with great information on how to introduce our new baby to be, to our dog Akaiya when the time comes. I always get compliments on how well behaved Akaiya is for a husky, specially when I bring her to the dog park and she walks to sit at the door when we say "ok Akaiya, let's go home". My favorite part of the training was learning how to really challenge Akaiya in ways to stimulate her intellectually and keep her intertained in a healthy manner. It is incredible the bond you build with your dog when you go out there and practice these skills and build new ones. I would strongly recommend Aces High Dog Training to any dog owners and wish them the best in Toronto.
Thank you very much, all the way from Moncton NB Christiane, Mathieu and Akaiya.
Headley… Bizou and I want to thank you for your time, patience, dedication and professionalism.  We gained so much from the training. We can now enjoy our walks together without her turning into a little monster when we come across other dogs, she responds and obeys when I call her, she does tricks and knows when to sit and wait for food and treats. She is a happy and settled little princess now, thanks to you, your training methods and guidance.  The next step for us is the next training course to take with you (off-leash). I have already recommended you to a couple of friends and have no hesitation at all in passing on your details with high recommendations to people I know. We look forward to working with you in the future. Bizou loves you by the way!

I had a challenging 6 month old rescue cane corso (large breed mastiff) puppy when Headley started working with us. She was willful, reactive, and growing fast. I was in over my head but Headley helped me connect with my puppy and bring her along. Headley has been just amazing with my dog, and she adores him. He is incredibly patient, and always ready with a suggestion or a solution and always makes sure he has addressed all of my questions and concerns before we proceed. Since we started working with Headley, the transformation in my dog has been downright miraculous. With Headley's patient guidance, practice and lots of treats, my dog is a pleasure to have around. I understand her better and I know how to manage our walks so that we have positive outcomes. It is a pleasure walking her now. Working with Headley has been a wonderful experience with excellent results.  KBW
This past summer I brought a puppy retriever into my life.  I contacted Headley almost immediately, but not because I was having any discipline issues.  I wanted to make sure Finley would enjoy his puppy time and grow up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog.   I was totally satisfied with Headley’s private training classes.  After each session, I was excited and motivated to work with Finley; we could see the results of his training methods right away.  Not only was Headley accommodating with class times, but he also made sure we were comfortable and confident with everything we were doing.  Headley was calm, patient, and positive during lessons, but was also observing, taking notes, and asking questions.  I could feel his sincere and professional motivation to personalize my training.  He continually explained his philosophy and methodology.  If ever I was confused or had a random question, Headley welcomed and encouraged emails, to which he responded so quickly.  Headley listens to what you want, never gets frustrated - although he does expect you to do your homework J - and truly cares about your dog.  In such a short time he taught me how to read Finley, to trust myself and be confident about what I was doing, and to try new things.  For sure I am sad about Finley losing his puppy smell, his fuzz turning to fur, his legs get taller, and his whines morphing into growls and barks.  However, I am certain he is happy and well adjusted, has enjoyed his first few months with me, and will become the best dog he can be.  For all of this, we say, “Thanks, Headley!”

Thanks to Headley we have turned a corner with our dog Henry.
Henry had incredible house manners along with an amazing disposition, but had zero recall & no attention span when outside!
While outside, Henry pulled on his leash & would not come when called. Jumping fences & chasing squirrels is all he wanted to do. My husband and I had no control over his outdoor behaviour.
Headley gave us the proper tools & guidelines to help curb Henrys wanderlust, and bond us with our dog.
Henry has now changed significantly! Henry has more confidence, walking him is now enjoyable. And we have faith he will come the first, or at worst the second time he is called to come.

Sincerely
Jessica & Michael MacPherson
